CAT5e Cabling

Computers operating in LANs tend to be connected using Cat5e cabling, cables. Cat5e supports fast (100Mbps) Ethernet and comparable alternatives such as ATM. CAT5e cable runs are limited to a maximum recommended run rate of 100m.

Shielded CAT5e STP cables are essential for preventing data loss – particularly in high interference situations. Where as, CAT5e bootless cables are an alternative to moulded-boot cables and are used in situations where cables have to be unplugged often.
